Creative Writing Camp

[Limited slots available] This 5-day intensive programme builds writing confidence through guided practice, with pre- and post-assessments to track real progress.

Programme Overview

Our June Creative Writing Camp is a structured 5-day programme designed to help students strengthen their composition skills, build confidence in writing, and develop effective strategies for school assessments and examinations.

This intensive programme includes a Pre-Diagnostic Assessment at the start and a Post-Review Test at the end to help parents clearly see their child’s progress over the course of the camp. Students will receive guided instruction, targeted practice, and personalised feedback in a small-group setting.

Who Is This Camp Suited For?

This programme is suitable for students who:

 

  • Need to improve their composition writing skills

  • Lack confidence in generating ideas

  • Make frequent grammar or vocabulary mistakes

  • Want to strengthen their writing foundation

  • Are preparing for upper primary assessments or PSLE

Parents will receive:

  • Pre-diagnostic writing results

  • Post-Review writing results

  • Teacher feedback on strengths and weaknesses

  • Recommended next learning steps

Assessment and Feedback

Schedule

Take a look at what your child's week will look like and how they form their strong foundation in writing.

Day 1 

Monday

Students will complete a diagnostic writing task to identify their current writing level. Teachers will analyse common mistakes and introduce the key structure of a strong composition.

Day 2

Tuesday

Students will learn how to start their compositions effectively and develop engaging descriptions.

Day 3

Wednesday

Students will learn how to organise events logically and create interesting story development.

Day 4

Thursday

Students will learn how to conclude their stories effectively and improve accuracy in grammar and vocabulary.

Day 5

Friday

Students will complete a final writing task to demonstrate improvement. Teachers will review progress and provide feedback to guide further learning.

Wrap up the Creative Writing Camp with a fun celebration featuring food, activities, and plenty of excitement!

What Parents Should Prepare

  • Writing Materials: Pencil case and writing book

  • Water Bottle: Recommended

  •  Snacks: Not required (refreshments provided)

  • Attendance: Students are expected to attend all 5 days

Attendance and Make-Up Policy

  • The programme is conducted over 5 consecutive days to ensure continuity of learning.

  • Make-up lessons are generally not available due to the structured nature of the camp.

  •  Parents are encouraged to ensure their child attends all sessions.
